The IRIS Institute team was honored to take part in the APU Research Conference. Our researcher, Mustafe Osman Farah-Gaboobe, delivered an insightful presentation on “Community Engagement in the Stabilization of Liberated Areas.”

The event attracted significant interest from participants, with many expressing appreciation for the relevance and depth of the topic. Mustafe’s presentation was well-received, demonstrating clarity, strong analysis, and a deep understanding of the subject. His performance was exceptional, as he effectively highlighted the importance of involving local communities in post-conflict stabilization processes. His engaging delivery and evidence-based approach earned him recognition from both fellow researchers and conference organizers.

As part of the IRIS Institute’s broader fieldwork, our team had recently visited Al-Miskat in the Bari region of Somalia — a frontline area in the fight against ISIS. The Institute has been actively conducting an in-depth study on the dynamics of this conflict, emphasizing local stabilization efforts and grassroots community involvement.

The research presented at the conference is part of this larger study, which will soon be published and shared with relevant stakeholders. The IRIS Institute remains committed to generating practical insights that contribute to regional security, peace building, and effective post-conflict recovery.
